Sixteenth-Century Society and Conference (SCSC) - Award Competitions

The Sixteenth-Century Society and Conference (SCSC) is now accepting submissions for the Roland H. Bainton Book Prizes and for the Gerald Strauss Book Prize. The Bainton Prizes recognize four categories of early modern scholarship: history and theology, literature, art and music, and reference. The Gerald Strauss Prizes is awarded to the best book in German Reformation Studies. For descriptions of the prizes and award criteria, see below. Prizes are awarded at the annual Fall meeting of the SCSC. This year the meeting will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, October 16-19, 2014.

To be eligible for the awards, the monograph or reference work must bear a publication date of 2013. Once you have identified eligible books, please forward to me a list of the books that you intend to submit for the various prizes.

For submissions in any one of the four categories, please send 3 copies of each book to Donald J. Harreld by April 1, 2014:
